NATIONAL CERTIFICATE (VOCATIONAL)

• Language - which must be the language of teaching and instruction;
• Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy; and
• Life Orientation.

In addition to the three fundamental subjects, students are required to complete four vocational subjects relating to their chose field.  Details of these can be found in our College Prospectus.

Programme Duration
Each of the three levels of the NC(V) requires one full year of study.  A student is issued with a certificate on the successful completion of each level of study.

Entry Requirements
The National Certificate (Vocational) begins at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework and as such the entry requirements are as follows:

• Grade 9, 10, 11 or 12 (higher grades recommended); or
• An NQF Level 1 qualification; or
• An approved bridging programme designed for the specific purpose to access NQF Level 2

From 2007 NIC, NSC & N1 - N3 began to be phased out and replaced by NC(V) levels 2 - 4 over a 3 year period.
